Day 6:Among big skies and limestone mountains
After a tasty breakfast, we take a quick 25 km bus ride along a paved road that winds through local terraced rice fields. The morning landscape is stunningly beautiful. At the end of the bus ride, we hop on our bikes and cycle through Vietnam's limestone mountain range, enjoying views of the incredible geological formations and misty rice terraces as we tackle steep climbs and enjoy the reward of the refreshing downhills. As we exit the mountain range, the terrain will level out a bit as we pass through minority villages and mountain communities, immersing us in the local culture and fostering interactions with the friendly people in the area. The mountain road passing "Heaven's Gate 1" will be a highlight of the day, offering the famous view over the Tam Son Valley and Twin Hills, which provide some of the most spectacular sights in Vietnam. The mix of challenging up-and-down terrain and relatively flat sections will test your biking skills, but the scenic views and friendly encounters with local hill tribes will make it all worthwhile. Finally, you'll descend into Yen Minh, observing the traditional homes of the communities and taking in the picturesque surroundings before an overnight stay at a guesthouse in this sleepy northern town.

If you are over 67 years old, you should have a thorough medical check-up before your trip. Make your doctor aware that this is a trip involving physical exertion and moving off the beaten track.
It is important that you complete all parts of the registration form (especially where we ask for information about health and allergies), and let us know if there is anything we need to be aware of prior to and during the trip. Relevant health information that may affect the trip should also be communicated to the guide at the start of the trip. *Note* - If you are on regular medication, have known allergies or anything similar, you must always bring your personal medication with you.
Please check our website to confirm that the departure is guaranteed before booking your own plane tickets. For each trip, we require a minimum number of confirmed participants before the departure can be guaranteed. Contact us if you need help buying flights.
On this trip, we stay in good standard tourist-class hotels with private showers and toilets. Participants share twin rooms, but single rooms can be booked. Front suspension, hardtail mountain bikes are included in the program, but participants can also arrange to bring their own bikes if they wish. Electric mountain bikes are also available upon request.
The first day in Hanoi is reserved for assembling the bikes. After the bike trip, we also have time in Hanoi for participants who have brought their own bikes to disassemble and pack them for the flight home.
On cycling days, all meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included. It is not always easy to get hold of gluten-free wholemeal bread, lactose-free alternatives or to accommodate other food preferences. If you have any allergies, please let us know in the registration form and we will try to accommodate you as best we can. However, we would still recommend that anyone with special dietary needs bring some alternatives in the form of, for example, a packet of crispbread, energy bars or similar that you know you can eat.

Packing Tips
November is the perfect season for cycling in the Ha Giang region. This time of year offers mild temperatures, making it important to prepare for both hot, sunny days and cooler conditions.
When packing, versatile and weather-adapted equipment should be prioritized. Pack light, moisture-wicking clothing for warmth, and several layers for cooler evenings. A good waterproof jacket is important due to potential rain. Bring padded cycling shorts, gloves and a comfortable helmet for long rides. Don't forget sturdy, "contracted" cycling shoes. Hydration is key, so bring a water bottle or CamelBak.
A true cycling adventure into the Vietnamese wilderness. Beautiful landscapes, friendly local communities, and fantastic biking. A trip to remember!
