Vulkana ski and sail

A memory for life

Vulkana ski and sail

A memory for life

From USD 3844

On this boat trip, we have three days of skiing, and we get to choose where they'll be. Depending on weather, wind, snow, and how we plan our adventure, we might even get a small bonus trip on the departure day.

We want to showcase the best of what Lyngen has to offer and make the most of the opportunities the boat provides. Focusing on skiing and enjoying life on the boat during the journey.

When we're not skiing, we can enjoy the amenities on the boat such as a sauna, hot tub on deck and hammam. Whether one wants to have a cup of coffee with the captain while sailing towards the next mountain, stand on deck and enjoy the sea breeze and the view, or simply relax with new and old acquaintances in the relaxation area, the adventure on Vulkana will be a memory for life.

Highlights:

  • Experienced guides
  • We reach the best ski areas by boat
  • We hunt for the best snow and the most fantastic experiences
  • We can customize the trip based on snow conditions, weather, and wind
  • A custom-built boat with unique spa and wellness facilities

Guests are accommodated in comfortable cabins, preferably together with the people they are traveling with or with participants of the same gender.

To find the best snow and ensure excellent skiing experiences, the peaks for each day are determined by the guides and the crew of Vulkana in consultation with the guests. Our guides are experienced and focus on finding memorable descents with good snow. The trips are tailored to the skill level of the entire group. If there are more than six participants, there are two guides, and in that case, we can divide the groups based on skill level, acquaintances, and preferences for the day.

In addition to epic skiing experiences, delicious food, and the comfortable boat, the crew will always ensure that you are well taken care of throughout the trip. Vulkana also offers dedicated spa voyages, and we get to enjoy these facilities during our skiing adventures as well. We can relax in the sauna, hot tub on deck, Turkish hammam, or simply unwind in the relaxation area.

Risk level

3/6 Risk

Activities/trips with some risk. Certain incidents may occur, and they may be of such a nature that they may require professional help.

Training and Preparation:

To get the most out of this trip, participants benefit from being familiar with their ski touring equipment. Just as important as good skiing skills is the ability to handle long days in the mountain for three or four consecutive days. Make sure to go on some long days in the mountain before the trip.

Avalanche safety equipment is mandatory for each participant.

Accommodation and Meals:

We stay on a comfortable boat with excellent facilities. Accommodations are in shared cabins. If you are traveling alone, we aim to arrange for you to share a room with someone of the same gender.

There is no shower/toilet in each cabin, but there are excellent shared facilities on board.

We provide a hearty breakfast, prepare packed lunches for our excursions, and serve delicious dinners in the evening.

The alcoholic beverages must be purchased on the boat due to the liquor license.

Other Information:

Fishing equipment is available on the boat if you wish to try your luck at fishing.

As all equipment is on board the boat at all times, it's advisable to limit your luggage to one bag for skis, one bag for clothes and gear, and one daypack for excursions.

Your daypack should have enough space for clothing, food, drinks, and avalanche safety equipment.

The extent of mobile phone coverage will vary during the trip.

Day 2-4:Ski Adventure in the Lyngen Area

Since we are staying on the boat and have everything we need throughout the trip, we prefer not to create a "day-to-day program." We want to make the most of the flexibility the boat offers us and move according to snow conditions, weather, and wind. In addition to the Lyngen Alps, areas like Kvaløya, Kåfjord, Uløya, Ringvassøya, or other hidden gems could be natural locations to consider for our backcountry skiing adventures.
