Lyngen ski and sail

Ski adventure in the majestic Lyngen Alps

Lyngen ski and sail

Ski adventure in the majestic Lyngen Alps

From USD 3933

Join us in the hunt for the finest snow in Lyngen by sailboat. We sail from Tromsø for ski tours in majestic surroundings, great food, scenic sailing, good company, and return to Tromsø six nights later with shared memories of the best Lyngen has to offer. We adapt our sailing routes and ski tours based on snow conditions, weather, and wind. While skiing is our main focus, we also emphasize sailing in beautiful surroundings, enjoying good food, and ensuring a pleasant life on board.

Highlights:

  • Experienced guide
  • Reaching the best ski areas by boat
  • Hunting for the best snow and most beautiful experiences
  • Adapting sailing routes based on snow conditions, weather, and wind
  • Freshly baked bread every day
  • Drying room on board

Guests are accommodated in three cabins, preferably together with the people they are traveling with or with someone of the same gender.

To find the best snow and ensure safe and enjoyable skiing experiences, the guide determines the peaks for each day. Our guide is experienced and focuses on finding memorable descents with good snow. The trips are tailored to the skill level of the entire group.

In addition to epic skiing experiences, delicious food, and the comfortable boat, the crew will always ensure that you are well taken care of throughout the trip. They are more than happy to assist you with taking care of your ski equipment along the way and facilitate your enjoyment of a warm drink under a cozy blanket on deck.

There is a small and friendly dog on board, so unfortunately, this trip is not suitable for those who are allergic to dogs.

Safety and grading of trips

Physical level

3/6 Physical

On these trips, some of the stages are demanding. On level 3 mountain hikes, there are often some long stages, and / or a demanding summit push where it can get cold. You must stand up to reach the goal, and have a good training basis and good health before departure. We sleep in tents and / or in cabins and hotels, but you do not have to have experience with tent life to participate. If the trip includes activities such as kayaking, cycling, climbing, glacier, skiing / mountaineering, it is an advantage to have experience with this activity.

Activities / trips with some risk. Some incidents may occur, and they may be of such a nature that they require professional help.

Safety and grading of trips

Training and preparation:

For you to fully benefit from this trip, participants should be accustomed to using their ski touring equipment. Just as important as good skiing skills is the ability to handle long days in the mountain for five consecutive days. Make sure to go on some long days in the mountains prior to the trip.

Avalanche safety equipment is mandatory for each participant.

Accommodation and Food:

We stay on a comfortable sailing boat. Accommodations are in shared rooms for 2 or 3 people. If you are traveling alone, we will strive to arrange for you to share a room with someone of the same gender.

We provide a hearty breakfast with freshly baked bread, prepare packed lunches for our excursions, and serve dinner in the evening.

Other Information:

Fishing equipment is available on the boat if you wish to try your luck at fishing.

As all equipment is on board the boat at all times, it's advisable to limit your luggage to one bag for skis, one bag for clothes and gear, and one daypack for excursions.

The daypack should have enough space for clothing, food, drinks, and avalanche safety equipment.

The extent of mobile phone coverage will vary during the trip.

Day 2-6:Top tours of exceptional quality!

Since we're staying on the boat and have everything we need throughout the trip, we prefer not to create a "day-to-day program." We want to make the most of the flexibility the boat offers us and move according to snow conditions, weather, and wind. In addition to the Lyngen Alps, areas like Kvaløya, Kåfjord, Uløya, or other hidden gems could be natural locations to consider as potential starting points for our backcountry skiing adventures.
