The itinerary is flexible, allowing us to adjust our plans to the weather for the best possible experience. Whether you’re soaking up the endless daylight of the midnight sun in summer or chasing the ethereal Northern Lights in the fall, every season brings its own magic. The journey wraps up in Kabelvåg, a convenient location for your return home or for extending your stay and continue exploring the beauty of Norway.

Meet in Moskenes at 5:30 PM, where our adventure begins. From here, we’ll transfer to the hotel and check into our rooms. As the evening unfolds, we’ll set off on a midnight sun hike to Reinebringen. In the afternoon, we transfer to Ballstad where we check in to our accommodation for the night and enjoy a well deserved dinner together.

Training and preparations

The various hikes will be approximately 4-6 hours long. You have to expect hiking in uneven terrain and should have experience with similar conditions.

Lofoten can be wet, with steep paths that can often be very muddy and slippery. Be prepared to be challenged if these conditions are new to you, or train for such hikes before the trip begins.

Accommodation and Meals

Accommodation on land: We stay at unique and welcoming accommodation in the area. 

Accomodation at sea: We stay on a comfortable boat with excellent facilities. Accommodations are double-bed cabins, with the possibility of making twin beds. If you are traveling alone, you will get your own cabin. There is a private shower and toilet in each cabin.

Other information

How to reach Moskenes: The ferry from Bodø leaves at 13:30 PM and reaches Moskenes at 17:30 PM.  

Due to limited space in the car and in the sailboat, we ask that you bring a bag (we recommend a duffel bag, as this is easier to handle than a rolling suitcase in the areas we visit) of clothes, toiletries and items needed when we are away on hikes. We also ask that you bring a daypack (hip belt is strongly recommended) for food, water, camera and extra clothes for the various hikes we are going on.

The extent of mobile phone coverage will vary during the trip. 

Equipment list

This list is intended as a guideline, so that we have what we need regardless of the weather we get on the trip. Remember that you can also get used hiking equipment that works perfectly. Get in touch if you have any questions. TIP: We recommend that you have the most important hiking equipment in your hand luggage, for example hiking boots and gore-tex jacket/trousers.

Not too thick, bring more layers if necessary. Top and bottom.

Wool or synthetic. Avoid cotton. Remember to always bring extra dry socks with you to prevent chafing.

We recommend thin wool.

Bring waterproof shoes/boots that you are familiar with and comfortable in for technical terrain

Avoid bringing a suitcase, they are more difficult to transport between hotels.

Personal medicines and, for example, band-aids, blister plaster, sports tape, throat lozenges, nasal drops, Paracetamol/Ibuprofen, stomach regulators, etc.
We need to know about all medicines you are taking, in case something happens. 

Tooth brush, tooth paste, small towel, ear plugs, wet wipes, biodegradable soap, etc.

You should be able to bring 2-3 litres of water.

Mandatory for August and September departures, optional for June and July departures. Remember new/extra batteries.
