From USD 4148

NOTE! Prices vary depending on group size. The price shown is per person for a group of ten participants.

On this trip, we’ll have four or five days of skiing, and we get to choose where to go. Depending on the weather, wind, snow, and how we plan our adventure, we might even get a little bonus trip on the day of departure.

We want to showcase the best Lyngen has to offer, and we’ll make the most of the opportunities the boat provides. Both in terms of skiing, which is a major focus, and in terms of life on the boat along the way.

When we’re not skiing, we enjoy the common areas we have on board the boat. Whether you’d like to have a cup of coffee with the captain as we sail toward the next mountain, stand on deck and enjoy the sea air and the view, or simply relax with new and old friends, your adventure on the Fjord Visjon will be a memory to last a lifetime.

Highlights

  • Experienced IFMGA Guides
  • We reach the best skiing areas by boat
  • We hunt for the best snow and the most beautiful experiences
  • A unique explorer boat with spacious common areas
  • Après-ski in the Northern Lights Bar on the boat

To find the best snow and ensure excellent skiing, the day’s touring objective will be determined by the guides and the Fjord Vision crew, in consultation with the guests.

Our guides are experienced IFMGA ski and mountain guides. Their primary focus is safety, alongside finding memorable descents with great snow. The trips will be adapted to the skill level of the entire group. Two guides will accompany the trip, which gives us the opportunity to divide the group based on skill level and daily preferences.

In addition to epic skiing, delicious food, and the boat itself, the crew will always ensure you are well taken care of onboard. The Fjord Vision is a unique explorer boat featuring common areas and a spacious dining room where we'll enjoy meals. After long days in the mountains, we gather in the boat's own Northern Lights Bar to talk about our adventure of the day.

Day 2-5:Ski adventure in and around Lyngen!

We enjoy a good breakfast every day, and pack a lunchbox for the days on the trip. Since we live on a boat and have everything we need for the trip, we do not want to make a "day-by-day" program. We want to make the most of the flexibility the boat gives us and move according to snow conditions, weather, and wind. In addition to the Lyngen Alps, Kvaløya, Kåfjord, Uløya, or Ringvassøya can be natural areas to have on the list of current starting points for summit trips. We end the days with a dinner buffet on board the boat.

For departures with Norrøna Adventure guides:

  • 24-hour emergency response
  • Guides trained in first aid in the field
  • Basic first aid equipment available
  • Cooperation with Turlegen.no for medical advice

On our trips, it is important to understand that we often will be traveling far off the beaten track. We will, of course, do everything we can to assist if anything should happen, but a potential rescue operation can be demanding. It is therefore extremely important that all participants arrive well-prepared and ready to handle unforeseen situations.

Physical level

3/6 Physical

Some segments of the journey may prove challenging. It's essential to possess a solid level of fitness prior to departure. Persistence will be required in reaching the trip's goal.

Comfort level

3/6 Comfort

Simple accommodations, such as cabins or guesthouses, often with multi-bed rooms. Sometimes with bunk beds and often with a shared bathroom.

Risk level

3/6 Risk

Activities/trips with some risk. Certain incidents may occur, and they may be of such a nature that they may require professional help.

Training and Preparations

To get the most out of this trip, it helps if participants are accustomed to using their backcountry skiing gear. Just as important as good skiing skills is the ability to comfortably go on substantial hikes four or five days in a row.

Be sure to go on a few day hikes before the trip. Avalanche safety equipment is required for every participant.

Accommodation

We’ll be staying on a spacious boat with basic amenities. We sleep in our own cabins. Despite its simple standard, the Fjord Visjon is a boat with plenty of charm and history!

There isn't a shower or toilet in every cabin, but there are good shared facilities.

We eat a hearty breakfast, pack a lunch to take with us on our trip, and then enjoy a delicious dinner in the evening. Due to the boat’s liquor license, alcoholic beverages must be purchased on board.

If you have any allergies, please let us know in the registration form and we will try to accommodate you as best we can. However, we would still recommend that anyone with special dietary needs bring some alternatives in the form of, for example, a packet of crispbread, energy bars or similar that you know you can eat.

Additional Information

For trips where flights are not included, please check our website to confirm that the departure is guaranteed before booking your own plane tickets. For each trip, we require a minimum number of confirmed participants before the departure can be guaranteed.

There is equipment available on board the boat for king crab fishing, so if we're lucky, we might catch some crabs.

The quality of our cell phone reception will vary throughout the trip.
