Hedda Skage Engmark
Hedda has a background from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH) with a Master’s in the sociology of sport, a teaching certificate, and a Bachelor’s in outdoor recreation. She currently works with both guiding and event planning at Norrøna Adventure, while also serving as an assistant professor at NIH.
Growing up in Stavern, Hedda has spent much of her life outdoors. Her holidays and weekends have been filled with mountain hikes, alpine and cross-country skiing, backcountry touring, and camping, combined with an active life along the coast. Today, she enjoys action-packed adventures just as much as the quiet, simple outdoor life, deeply valuing nature's presence, personal mastery, and great experiences outside.
Her interest in the outdoors led to studies at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH), where she earned a Bachelor’s in outdoor recreation, health, and nature guiding, a teaching certificate, and a Master’s in the sociology of sport. In addition to years of experience working with people in various environments—including as a guide in Hardanger—Hedda currently works as an assistant professor of outdoor studies at NIH. She also works with guiding and event planning at Norrøna Adventure, where she organizes and leads teambuilding events for both corporate and private groups. As a guide, Hedda aims to facilitate great nature experiences that create a sense of accomplishment, inspiration, and a desire to spend more time outdoors.
