Atle Trodal

A versatile guide with many years of experience. His passion for the outdoors always creates unforgettable experiences for our guests!

Atle started as a guide for the company in 2008. He has a degree in economics and is a leadership developer in his own company in addition to the guide role in Norrøna Adventure. He has good competence in communication on trips, taking care of participants' needs/motivation on trips, and building unity/becoming a good hiking group on trips. As one of the seniors, Atle's guide competence is built through experience, more than formal education. Of course, all courses under the auspices of us, in medicine (height)/first aid/safety have been completed many times. Atle was selected guide of the year in 2019.

Nature is Atle's source of energy and from his home in Geilo, he finds this by just opening the door. Atle has traveled a lot both in Norway and in the rest of the world, and whether he is on a trip alone or as a guide, he feels at home where he is at all times. Atle greatly appreciates good humor, informality, and that everyone on tour feels seen and included. Safety always comes first, but when it is in place we can have fun on the trip.

Atle has guided our trips to Elbrus, Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, Bolivia, Bhutan, Everest Basecamp, Jebel Toubkal, Mt. Ararat and Stok Kangri. He has crossed the Greenland ice with ski and pulk, crossed Svalbard from North to South, followed Amundsen's footsteps with a skiing expedition through the Northwest Passage, crossed the Finnmarksvidda Mountain Plateau, guided groups over Hardangerjøkulen, led winter expedition courses at Finse and Jotunheimen, guided hiking trips in the Alps and cycled in Albania and Portugal, as well as numerous summer trips in Norway.
