Asbjørn is a veteran of Norwegian freeride skiing, with over two decades of charging big lines and starring in major ski films. A core member of the Norrøna family for many years, he now brings his deep mountain experience and passion for backcountry skiing to Japan as a guide for Norrøna Adventure.
Originally from Bergen and now based near Molde. Asbjørn is known for his down-to-earth approach to the mountains. For him, it’s rarely about racing to the summit, but rather reading the terrain, tracking down the best Japow snow, and creating safe, memorable mountain experiences.

What do you do in your daily life to reduce your CO2 footprint?
I do most of my ski touring locally in Norway and avoid traveling around the world more than necessary — maximum once a year. I also focus on buying high-quality outdoor gear built to last.
What is your favorite place in the world?
The Romsdal mountains in Norway.
What kind of advice would you give a 10 year old version of yourself?
Believe in yourself, and nothing can stop you.
What is your hobbies/what do you like spending the time on outside work and the outdoor activities?
Windsurfing and woodworking.
What is your hidden talent?
I’m actually a surprisingly good cook.
If you could choose a super power, what would it be and why?
To be Batman. He can fly, and Val Kilmer is just cool!
