We will meet at Juvet Landskapshotell in Valldal. This evening we will go through potential trips in the area, equipment, and expectations. We´ll enjoy a good 3-course dinner and get to know each other.

Come join us in one of Norway's most beautiful and snowiest mountain ranges. Ski touring in the Western part of Norway often provides great contrasts. Spring takes hold early down by the sea and valleys, while you greet winter is still up in the mountains. Starting from the unique Juvet Landskapshotell, we are aiming for a superb long weekend on a top tour with a local well-known guide.
Accommodation is at Juvet landscape hotel, one of the most distinctive hotels in all of Norway. With three skiing days at your disposal, there are many touring options. At Juvet there is a sauna and hot tub, and we use the evenings to eat high-class, local dinners and plan new trips.
We will choose the touring destinations based on snow conditions, avalanche assessments, the weather and the group's wishes.
- 24 hour emergency standby team
- Guides with training in first aid
- Necessary medications and first aid available
- Cooperation with Turlegen.no for medical advice while in the field
On these trips, some of the stages are demanding. On level 3 mountain hikes, there are often some long stages, and / or a demanding summit push where it can get cold. You must stand up to reach the goal, and have a good training basis and good health before departure. We sleep in tents and / or in cabins and hotels, but you do not have to have experience with tent life to participate. If the trip includes activities such as kayaking, cycling, climbing, glacier, skiing / mountaineering, it is an advantage to have experience with this activity.
Activities / trips with some risk. Some incidents may occur, and they may be of such a nature that they require professional help.
Training and Preparation
In order to participate on this trip, you must have good physical fitness ascending and descending on skis. Ascents can vary depending on the group's ability and snow conditions, but being able to ascend 1,200 - 2,000 meters per day is important when wanting to participate on this trip.
It's important to have experience in ski touring and to be an able skier in mountain terrain outside groomed ski slopes. Avalanche awareness and training are important, as well as the knowledge of how to use avalanche safety equipment, such as a beacon, shovel, and probe. Your guide will have the final risk management decision-making on this trip in order to ensure safe ascents and descents each day. Changes in weather, snow, or road conditions can change the itinerary that is presented in the day-to-day program.
We will stay at Juvet Landskapshotell, which is ideally located in a nature based setting- large trees and boulders, a view of the river and the mountains right out your window. We will sleep in a double or twin shared room.
For the departure in early April, the "Fulglehusene" is closed for the season and we will stay in the well-known "Landskapsrommene". At the end of April, we will originally stay in the "Bird Houses", but it is possible to upgrade to the "Landskapsrommene" for this departure if you wish. The price for this is NOK 5,250 in total for an upgrade of 3 nights. Please choose this when booking or contact us well in advance if you wish to upgrade.
Single room supplement is 4.000 NOK for all nights.
The easiest way to get to Juvet Landskapshotell is by private car, possibly a rental car from Ålesund. We need private cars to drive to the starting point for daily trips. If we return somewhere other than where the cars are parked, we take a taxi back to the starting point and split the bill or shuttle cars.
Note: Trollstigen is not normally open until the end of May.
We reserve the right to change prices. The day by day program is a guideline and changes may occur. You can refer to our general travel conditions for more information.
On all our trips, we require you to have full health and accident insurance which will also cover any emergency transport home. Read more about travel insurance.
NOTE! Avalanche equipment (transmitter/receiver, search pole and shovel) is mandatory on this trip. If you already have an ice axe, crampons and/or ski crampons, it can be a great opportunity to get guidance and an introduction to how to use this.
