Pyrenees Enduro Mountain Biking Adventure

From alpine singletrack to ancient desert-flow trails

Pyrenees Enduro Mountain Biking Adventure

From alpine singletrack to ancient desert-flow trails

From USD 4596

Embark on an unforgettable mountain biking adventure through the spectacular Spanish Pyrenees, where every day brings new terrain, fresh challenges, and breathtaking scenery. This enduro journey takes us through both the rugged  lanscape of the High Pyrenees and the more temperate middle ranges, offering an incredible mix of alpine and somtimes moon-like trails , dense conifer forests, and the legendary dry, desert-like singletracks of the Aínsa region. Along the way, each region offers a unique glimpse into Spain’s rich culture—where centuries-old traditions meet vibrant modern life in charming mountain villages and lively local communities.

Highlights

  • Legendary single tracks of Ainsa
  • Epic alpine descent of Sierra Negra
  • Overnight in centuries old manors and renovated monistaries with spa included
  • An average vertical descent of 2,500-3,000 meters and only 500 meters of uphill per day
  • Numerous singletracks tailored for technical and exhilarating rides (grade S3 on the Single Trail Scale)

From flowy descents high in the mountains to technical switchbacks winding through ancient valleys, this trip is a celebration of the Pyrenees’ rich natural diversity and cultural heritage.  After meeting in Barcelona, we’ll shuttle north into the heart of the Pyrenees, arriving in the charming mountain village of Cerler — our base for the first part of this adventure. The opening days are packed with thrilling singletrack rides that wind through alpine peaks, dense forests, and hidden valleys, as we climb higher with the help of van shuttles and sure-footed mules.

Later in the week, the landscape transforms dramatically as we leave the high alpine behind for the sunbaked, desert-like trails of the Aínsa region. Here, we’ll flow through a maze of ancient villages, ride over striking geological formations, and soak up the unique culture and history that make this corner of Spain a true mountain biking paradise.

A good physical condition and a solid riding technique on trails up to S3 (scored by using the Single Track Scale, which classifies natural trails) are therefore the essential prerequisites for enjoying this multi-day tour to the full.

Day 1:Welcome to Benasque

Our adventure begins early, so we recommend that guests arrive in Barcelona the day before to ensure they’re ready at the designated group pickup location for the morning transfer to the mountains. We’ll depart at 8:00 a.m. from the pre-designated meeting location and set out on a scenic four-hour shuttle into the heart of the Pyrenees. Once in the mountains we will enjoy a tapas-style buffet lunch and a short pre-trip briefing before getting our bikes ready — either assembling personal bikes or setting up rentals. Once our bellies are full with our fist taste of delicious Spanish cuisine we will hit the trails. This afternoon, a 30-minute shuttle takes us high into the mountains for our first warm-up ride — a breathtaking loop through a natural mountain amphitheater that winds around the ridge line before dropping down a flowing trail to the charming village below. We’ll wrap up the day with a hearty Welcome Dinner at our hotel which is a beautifully restored stone manor, offering the perfect rustic charm for sharing stories and excitement for the week of riding ahead.

Day 4:The Rincón del Cielo descent

Another day, another amazing ride. Today we start with a scenic hour-long shuttle into the high mountains, where today’s ride begins. From the drop-off point, we climb steadily — a mix of pedaling and hike-a-bike — gaining altitude as the views open wide across the Pyrenean peaks. The final push to the top, known as Rincón del Cielo or “Heaven’s Corner,” is well worth the effort. At the summit, we enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by vast alpine scenery — then comes the reward: an epic two-hour descent. The trail drops along a ridgeline flanked by towering rock walls, with endless switchbacks, technical sections, and flowing turns that deliver pure enduro bliss. Every corner reveals a new view — rugged valleys, distant snowcapped peaks, and the tiny villages far below. Day 6:Desert trails and forgotten villages of the Pyrenees

Today’s ride takes us deep into the heart of the mid-range Pyrenees — a landscape that feels worlds apart from the alpine peaks we’ve left behind. After a short morning transfer, we’ll spend the day chasing flowy desert-style singletrack. With four scenic shuttles throughout the day, we’ll unlock access to the Pyrenees’ most legendary trails. The trail winds through dramatic ridgelines and open plateaus before leading us into the ghost village of Morcat, where the silent ruins of an 11th-century church stand as a haunting reminder of the valley’s ancient past. It’s a surreal place to pause, catch our breath, and enjoy a packed lunch in the shade before continuing our descent through the arid, sculpted hills toward the valley floor. By late afternoon, we return to Boltaña, where a well-earned dinner awaits at our hotel — the perfect reward after another unforgettable day on the trails of the Pyrenees.

Physical level

4/6 Physical

Here you have to be ready for a real challenge! The trips are often longer than at lower levels. Along the way, it will be both physically and mentally demanding, and that requires you to be prepared for this. You should engage in targeted training well in advance of departure, and you must prepare well.

Comfort level

5/6 Comfort

Good to high quality hotels with good meals, ambience and service. Accommodation with a special touch.

Risk level

4/6 Risk

Activities/trips with significant risk. Incidents may occur, and they can be of such a nature that they require professional help.

Difficulty & Preparation

The level of the tour is demanding to very demanding. There is a great variety of different singletracks, some are easier, however often they are challenging, with slippery, steep and rocky sections, which can of course also be walked.

A good physical condition and a solid riding technique on trails up to S3 (scored by using the Single Track Scale, which classifies natural trails) are therefore the essential prerequisites for enjoying this multi-day tour to the full.

This trip averages 3000-3500 meters of descent and 500 meters of ascent daily. We predominantly cycle on narrow trails - "singletracks," with some road/gravel for transportation in between.

Visa, Vaccines and Health

Before embarking on our journey together, we kindly remind all tour participants to check their respective country's visa status and vaccination requirements. Ensuring your travel documents are in order is a crucial step in guaranteeing a smooth and hassle-free adventure. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of return.

Additionally, research any required vaccinations or health precautions to stay safe during your trip. Don't forget to verify that your passport is up-to-date and will remain valid for the duration of your stay. Always consult with your country's official travel advisory or consulate for the most accurate and current information on entry requirements and health guidelines for your destination.

If you are 67+ years, you should undergo a comprehensive medical check-up before the trip. Inform your doctor that it involves physical exertion.

It is important that you complete all sections of the registration form (especially where we request health and allergy information) and let us know if there is anything we need to be aware of before and during the trip.

Relevant health information that may affect the trip should also be communicated to the guide at the start of the tour. Please note that if you are on regular medications, have known allergies, or similar conditions, you should always have your personal medications with you.

Additional Information

International flights are not included on this trip so it is important to check whether the departure is guaranteed or not before booking your international flights for the trip. On each departure, we must have a minimum number of confirmed participants before we can guarantee the departure.

Since our adventure begins very early on the first day with a long group transfer to Benasque, we strongly recommend that all participants fly into and spend the night before the trip starts in Barcelona. The group pickup on the morning of Day 1 will be from a hotel located near Barcelona Airport (BCN). We will share the specific name and address of this airport hotel with the group once the trip departure is officially confirmed. For your convenience, the transfer at the end of the trip will also return the group to the same hotel location in Barcelona.

Our stays are split between the traditional 4-star Hotel Casa Cornel in Cerler, a beautifully restored stone manor that provides authentic regional comfort, and the luxurious 5-star Hotel & Spa Monasterio de Boltaña, a historic 17th-century building featuring serene Pyrenean amenities, including an amazing full service spa and excellent dining.

At the hotel, you'll share a double room with another participants. Single rooms are usually an option for an additional fee - please contact us if you're interested.

Packing Tips

The ideal bike for this trip is a full-suspension trail/enduro bike with approximately 160 mm of travel. It is recommended to bring your own bike, however, it is possible rent one in Spain. Please contact us well in advance if you want to rent a bike. NOTE: If you are renting a bike, bring your own pedals and tools to install them.

Your bike shoes should be water-resistant and suitable for walking during hiking sections.

We recommend a daypack in the size of 20-25 liters, and a water bottle or CamelBak with around 2 liters capacity (there are many places to refill along the way). To fully enjoy more challenging terrain and descents, it is recommended that the backpack does not weigh more than 7 kg and does not interfere with the head/helmet.

Bike helmet, knee pads, and tools/spare parts are mandatory to bring.

Swimwear - Hotel & Spa Monasterio de Boltaña has indoor pool, sauna and hot tub.
