The Ultimate Norrøna Mountain Bike Adventure

Experience Norrøna Canvas Telemark and Norrøna Varg Sailing Yacht

The Ultimate Norrøna Mountain Bike Adventure

Experience Norrøna Canvas Telemark and Norrøna Varg Sailing Yacht

From USD 7318

Get ready for the ultimate mountain bike journey with Norrøna, a private trip designed to showcase the very best of Norway. This integrated itinerary seamlessly blends urban culture with world-class trails, anchored by two unique Norrøna locations: the secluded Norrøna Canvas Telemark and the majestic Varg S/Y in the North,  which was named on TIME’s list of the World’s Greatest Places 2026.

Highlights

  • Wood-fired sauna and hot tubs
  • One of a kind Arctic fusion menu and locally sourced cousine
  • Fresh morning coffee delivered right to your doorstep at Norrøna Canvas
  • Wake up in a new fjord every morning while on the Varg S/Y
  • Bike legendary granite "slickrock" and flowy Norwegian forest trails (S2 grade on the Single Track Scale)

This integrated expedition is more than just a bike trip—it is a curated journey through the heart of the Norrøna brand. By combining our two prestigious destinations, we offer a seamless transition from the deep, forested inland to the salt-streaked coast of the Arctic. Whether you are navigating the technical granite of Telemark or carving through remote island paths, you are immersed in an environment where Norrøna's high-performance gear, our world-class guiding, and unique architecture meet.

The Norrøna Destinations Experience
Your adventure begins in the capital of Oslo, where you’ll enjoy a day of culture and preparation before heading deep into the wilderness. From there, you will spend three days at the renowned Norrøna Canvas Telemark, riding legendary granite "slickrock" and flowy forest trails by day, and relaxing in luxury wool-insulated yurts and wood-fired bathtubs by night.

The journey then takes a dramatic turn as you fly north to board the Norrøna Varg, our 62-foot expedition sail yacht. Recognized by TIME for its striking design and "pure hygge" atmosphere, the Varg serves as your floating basecamp for three days of "sea-to-summit" biking. As we navigate through remote fjords, the yacht becomes your private accommodation, restaurant, and transportation, giving you exclusive access to hidden island paths and untouched Arctic landscapes.

As a community of adventurers at Norrøna, we believe the best stories are written in the wild. This private trip captures the same spirit found at our signature festivals—from ski touring in Chamonix to ice climbing in Rjukan. It is about creating a space where passion for the outdoors and technical innovation come together. Even on a private trip, you are part of a global community of enthusiasts who value quality, sustainability, and the thrill of the perfect line.

Whether you’re pushing your limits on challenging S2-grade trails, testing out the latest Norrøna gear, or sharing a locally sourced meal on the deck of the Varg under the midnight sun, this journey offers the perfect blend of adventure and refined comfort. Don't miss the chance to experience the "World’s Greatest Places" through the eyes of the people who know them best.

Note on Life at Sea: While the Varg is a masterpiece of design, it remains an authentic sailboat. Space is cozy and communal—please pack in soft bags to ensure a smooth transition from land to sea.No prior sailing experience is needed, as the crew will handle all onboard operations and logistics. However, if you’d like to get involved and lend a hand, they’ll be more than delighted to have your assistance!

Day 2:Travel to Norrøna Canvas Telemark

After breakfast, it is time to head into the wilderness. We get into a minibus and start the trip towards Telemark. We stop in Gautefall, and cycle into Norrøna Canvas. Here we get a taste of what awaits us in the next few days. Barnål trails and sva, and we cycle straight into the camp, where dinner and a sauna await us. How about a dip in the lake before dinner? Norrøna Canvas Telemark is located deep in the forest and cannot be reached by vehicle. At first glance, Norrøna Canvas resembles a safari lodge, isolated on a private island. During our stay we will stay in yurts equipped with a comfortable bed, wood stove and private toilet, with your bike, restaurant and spa/shower only a few meters away. We live right by the bike path, so after eating lunch, we hop on our bikes to get to know the trails and our bikes. The terrain is varied and offers the best tours for all levels. In the evening we will enjoy a dinner prepared with Norwegian ingredients, combined with an excellent drinks menu and a spectacular view of the lake, before enjoying a good night's sleep in our Hästens beds

Accommodation and Meals

You will stay at the unique Norrøna Destinations of both Norrøna Canvas Telemark and Norrøna Varg Sailing Yacht. At Canvas, you will sleep in a yurt, and at Varg we stay at our comfortable sailing yacht with excellent facilities.

A yurt is the traditional nomadic home of Mongolia and surrounding regions, has been widely used for thousands of years. Enjoy a high quality sleep in Hästens beds on an island in the middle of Telemark's wilderness. Each yurt is equipped with a wood burning stove and a private toilet with your bike, the restaurant and the spa/showers only a few meters away.

At Varg, the accommodations are double-bed cabins, with the possibility of making twin beds. If you are traveling alone, you will get your own cabin for a single supplement. There is a private shower and toilet in each cabin. We provide a hearty breakfast, prepare packed lunches for our excursions or lunch aboard, and serve delicious 3-course dinners in the evening. The alcoholic beverages must be purchased on the boat due to the liquor license.

Training and preparations

For this trip you need prior trail biking experience. Some of the stages can be quite challenging, necessitating a solid foundation in training and robust health before embarking on this adventure.

A good physical condition and a solid riding technique on trails up to S2 (scored by using the Single Track Scale, which classifies natural trails 0-5) are therefore the essential prerequisites for enjoying this multi-day tour to the full.

If you have any inquiries regarding your training regimen or your skill level, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Other information

To give you the best possible experience, we may move the days around depending on the weather.

While at Varg, as all equipment is on board the boat at all times, it's advisable to limit your luggage to one bag for clothes and gear, and one daypack for excursions. Please pack in a bag or backpack. Your daypack should have enough space for clothing, food and drinks.

The extent of mobile phone coverage will vary during the trip. You'll find USB-C charging points on board the boat.

Equipment list

This list is intended as a guideline, so that we have what we need regardless of the weather we get on the trip. Remember that you can also get used outdoor equipment that works perfectly. Get in touch if you have any questions. TIP: We recommend that you have the most important equipment in your hand luggage, for example hiking boots and gore-tex jacket/trousers.

Obligatory

Clothing

Wool or synthetic. Avoid cotton.

Down or synthetic insulation, medium thickness.

Waterproof jacket and pants.

Thin, ultra light.

For warmer days, and as a hat when sleeping.

Full-finger gloves, for protection.

Pants/shorts, long/short sleeved shirt (wool or synthetic), thin and light windbreaker. Padded bike shorts if preferred. Dress according to the weather and temperature.

For camp.

We recommend thin wool or synthetic.

Footwear

Flat or clip-in.

Equipment

Tooth brush, tooth paste, small towel, ear plugs, wet wipes, biodegradable soap, etc.

Day pack for biking. Space for neccesary servicekit/spare parts, extra clothing, water, snack etc.

And possibly other types of preferred protection gear.

Recommended

Clothing

With padding.

Footwear

Lightweight and low volume footwear for indoor use. Slippers or similar.

Equipment

Remember new/extra batteries.

Packing Tips

Your bike shoes should be water-resistant and suitable for walking during hiking sections.

We recommend a daypack in the size of 20-25 liters, and a water bottle or CamelBak with around 2 liters capacity (there are many places to refill along the way). To fully enjoy more challenging terrain and descents, it is recommended that the backpack does not weigh more than 7 kg and does not interfere with the head/helmet.

Bike helmet, knee pads, and tools/spare parts are mandatory to bring.
