Risk level

3/6 Risk

Activities/trips with some risk. Certain incidents may occur, and they may be of such a nature that they may require professional help.

Traning and preparations

This is a moderately physically demanding tour with daily stages of up to 70 kilometers by bike in a hot and humid climate. However, we start slowly and gradually increase the pace during the tour.

The roads are partly paved, partly country roads and paths, but it is mostly flat (with some steeper sections) and we use good bikes. We have a bus with us the whole way, so if one of the sections gets too steep, it is possible to ride the bus for the rest of the section.

With cycling stages of up to 40-70 km, it is both important and necessary that you have cycled a bit before the trip. This is both to avoid injuries and sores on the back, and out of consideration for the rest of the group.

Visas, Vaccinations and Health

Before embarking on our journey together, we kindly remind all tour participants to check their respective country's visa status and vaccination requirements. Ensuring your travel documents are in order is a crucial step in guaranteeing a smooth and hassle-free adventure.

Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of return.

If you are over 67, you should have a thorough medical check-up before your trip. Make your doctor aware that this is a trip involving physical exertion and moving off the beaten track.

It is important that you fill in all parts of the registration form (especially where we ask for information about health and allergies), and let us know if there is anything we need to be aware of before and during the trip. Relevant health information that may have an impact on the tour must also be communicated to the guide at the start of the tour. NOTE - If you are on regular medication, have known allergies or the like, you must always have your personal medication with you.

Additional Information

It is important to check on our website whether the trip is guaranteed or not before you book your flights to Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI). On each trip, we must have a minimum number of confirmed participants before we can guarantee the program departure. Please contact us if you need help buying flights.

We mostly stay in tourist class hotels of good standard, with private shower and toilet.

It is not always easy to get gluten-free wholemeal bread, lactose-free alternatives or to accommodate other dietary requirements. Please write it in the registration form if you have allergies and we will try to accommodate as best we can. We would still recommend that anyone with special dietary needs bring some alternatives in the form of, for example, a package of crispbread, energy bars or similar that you know you can eat.

Testimonial

"Cycling in Cambodia was a unique experience in many ways. Angkor Wat was incredible, as were the Khmer Rouge torture chambers, although with a shocking undertone. Nature is experienced even better from the saddle of a bike and the countryside comes into its own when you move forward and stop where it feels right."
