Day 2:To the High Atlas

After breakfast, we meet our guide at the hotel. They will give us a short briefing before we embark on our adventure into the High Atlas. We drive south to the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and gradually ascend the steep mountain roads to the town of Oukaimeden, home to Africa’s highest ski resort at 3,268 m. Today is a taste of things to come and the trail offers long, playful sections on flowy paths along with some good uphill stretches to warm up our riding legs for the week ahead. From there, we descend into the Imenane Valley, passing green fields, pine forests, and streams fed by melting mountain snow. After lunch by the river, we continue to the Imlil Valley at the foot of Mount Toubkal, where we end the day and spend the night at a charming mountain riad overlooking the iconic village of Imlil.

After breakfast, we gear up for another epic day in the High Atlas. Today’s goal: the scenic Tizi Mizik Pass. Day 4:Ouirgane - Amizmiz

We start the day on one of the classic trails that has put Ouirgane firmly on the world singletrack map. The canyon below, with its striking blue lake, is pure gold for trail riding — technical enough to keep you focused, but never intimidating. After a short, steep climb (some hike-a-bike required), we drop onto a wonderful elevated singletrack that winds above the river valley. This 10 km section is a true highlight of the tour — exhilarating, scenic, and absolutely unforgettable. From there, we bypass the usual dirt road and contour around the hills on narrow goat trails, arriving at Imi n’Tal’at village for a delicious hand-prepared picnic lunch. After lunch We then tackle an entertaining singletrack uphill through the village, before looping back down the same valley on a fast, flowing descent. A few fun sections in the riverbed lead us onto the dirt road, and soon we arrive in the Amizmiz Valley. The setting here is the stuff of dreams. After a feast of a dinner, enjoy drinks on the rooftop while soaking in the sights, sounds, and a star-studded sky overhead — the perfect end to an epic day of riding.

Day 5:The Amizmiz Loop

A one-hour transfer brings us to a plateau at 1,900 m on the edge of the Atlas Mountains. We start with an easy 5 km roll before descending to the Taskourt Reservoir to recharge. After a shuttle back to the plateau, we tackle a variety of singletracks of varying difficulty on the return to Amizmiz. The highlight is the Sharp Rock Trail — flowing and fun, with the first section challenging more from bushes than rocks, offering a playful and scenic ride through the High Atlas.

Day 6:High Atlas view & Berber villages

We begin with a gentle traverse and climb to the top of the pass, including a short hike-a-bike. From the summit, the singletrack starts fast and flowing, gradually becoming more technical as it drops into the riverbed. The trail varies from slow, technical sections to smooth, flat-out stretches, keeping the ride thrilling all the way. The finale treat is a rickety bridge crossing, leading to the van for a late lunch. Afterward, we transfer to Ouirgane for our final night in the Atlas Mountains.

Day 7:Ouirgane valley & return to Marrakech

This is our final day in the High Atlas and it will be a big one! After breakfast, we ride together for about an hour, climbing over a pass before plunging down a rugged canyon. The trail opens onto a thrilling stretch of fast, loose pea gravel — wide, flowing, and pure adrenaline, with none of the usual trail worries. At Assif Zegzawne, we enjoy a short, relaxing downhill “piste” before hitting 8 km of high-speed, flowing singletrack through forested slopes above Ouirgane. The terrain is spectacular, the views jaw-dropping, and the fun doesn’t stop until we reach Tighfist village. From there, golden trails carry us all the way down to Ouirgane’s lakeshore, followed by a final easy 4 km roll to the hotel. After lunch, we transfer back to Marrakech, exhausted but exhilarated. Tonight we will stay at a riad in the Medina of Marrakech, which is close to the main square Jemaa El Fna. This square is one of the most incredible places in all of Morocco! At dusk, the square gradually fills up until it becomes an entire carnival of storytellers, snake charmers, medicine men, acrobats, musicians and entertainers. A wonderful place to end our trip!

Physical level

3/6 Physical

Some segments of the journey may prove challenging. It's essential to possess a solid level of fitness prior to departure. Persistence will be required in reaching the trip's goal.

Comfort level

4/6 Comfort

Simple to good quality inns, such as small family hotels, B&Bs and agrotourism (farmhouses), usually with private bathrooms.

Risk level

3/6 Risk

Activities/trips with some risk. Certain incidents may occur, and they may be of such a nature that they may require professional help.

Difficulty & Preparation

The level of the tour is middle to demanding. There is a great variety of different trails, some of them are challenging, sometimes with slippery, steep and rocky sections, which can of course also be walked. A good physical condition and a solid riding technique on trails up to S2 (scored by using the Single Track Scale, which classifies natural trails 0-5) are therefore the essential prerequisites for enjoying this multi-day tour to the full.

We are biking +/- 30 km daily for six days, with an average of 350 meters of ascent and around 2000 meters of descent. Most of the trails we ride on are singletracks, with some sections on gravel roads. Transfers are primarily done using four-wheel drives, but there are also instances where mule-assisted bike transport is used, involving hiking to the trailhead.

Visa, Vaccines and Health

Before embarking on our journey together, we kindly remind all tour participants to check their respective country's visa status and vaccination requirements. Ensuring your travel documents are in order is a crucial step in guaranteeing a smooth and hassle-free adventure. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of return.

Always consult with your country's official travel advisory or consulate for the most accurate and current information on entry requirements and health guidelines for your destination.

If you are 67+ years, you should undergo a comprehensive medical check-up before the trip. Inform your doctor that it involves physical exertion.

It is important that you complete all sections of the registration form (especially where we request health and allergy information) and let us know if there is anything we need to be aware of before and during the trip.

Relevant health information that may affect the trip should also be communicated to the guide at the start of the tour. Please note that if you are on regular medications, have known allergies, or similar conditions, you should always have your personal medications with you.

Additional Information

International flights are not included on this trip so it is important to check whether the departure is guaranteed or not before booking your international flights for the trip. On each departure, we must have a minimum number of confirmed participants before we can guarantee the departure.

On this trip, we will stay in various types of accommodations, with a strong emphasis on embracing local and traditional settings.  During the bike trip, all meals - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - are included. However, while staying in Marrakech, only breakfast is provided.

In Marrakech, we have time to assemble our bikes after the flight, and for those renting bikes here, we can make individual adjustments to customize them. After the bike trip, we will also have time here to disassemble the bikes and pack them for the flight home.

Equipment list

This list is intended as a guideline, so that we have what we need regardless of the weather we get on the trip. Remember that you can also get used outdoor equipment that works perfectly. Packing Tips

The ideal bike for this trip is a full-suspension trail/enduro bike with 140+ mm of travel. It is recommended to bring your own bike, however, it is possible rent one in Morocco (e-bike is not recommended on this trip). Please contact us well in advance if you want to rent a bike. NOTE: If you are renting a bike, bring your own pedals and tools to install them.

Your bike shoes should be water-resistant and suitable for walking during hiking sections.

We recommend a daypack in the size of 15-20 liters, and a water bottles or Camelbak with around 2 liters capacity. To fully enjoy more challenging terrain and descents, it is recommended that the backpack is light and compact, and does not interfere with the head/helmet.

Bike helmet, knee pads, and tools/spare parts are mandatory to bring.

Swimwear - there are good chances to experience a traditional hammam, a 'Berber sauna'."Also, all of the accomodations (except the mountain hut) have a pool.
